How did I determine the subject heading for Subject Cataloging using the Library of Congress Subject Headings (LCSH)?
Based on its title, preface and by scanning the content of the book, it's apparent that the book is generally about "sistem kejuruteraan" and specifically about "kejuruteraan kawalan". So, this book should be catalogued under these two terms.
Acoording to LCSH, the Broader term (BT) is "System Engineering" and the Narrower term (NT) is "Automatic control"
The Subject cataloging should keep a record of its narrower term(NT) followed by its Broader Term (BT) such as follows:
Pengenalan sistem kejuruteraan kawalan / Herlina Abdul
Rahim; Ruzairi Abdul Rahim.- Skudai: Universiti
Teknologi Malaysia, 2004
- x; 128; ill; 26 cm
- Includes bibliographies and indexes
- ISBN 983-52-0349-0
1. Automatic control 2. Systems engineering
